My Journey
I’m not exactly sure where to begin. Should I begin with the two most traumatic experiences in my life offered before I was 4 years old?
At 18 months I was pushed off onto my aunt’s girlfriend and her husband. They couldn’t have children so they wanted to adopt me. I stayed with them for a while until it was revealed the “ Aunt Bunny” was unstable as she accused Uncle Teddy of molesting me and hit him over the head with a glass vase and I watched blood trickled down his face.
Or should I start at the time my father banged my mom’s head against the wall and her teeth and blood were all over the floor.
Either way I think it is safe to say that my early life was traumatic. And it didn’t get much better. They thought that I was too young to remember and soon I forgot. I forgot that one because there were too many other incidents of violence in our home. Outside our 2-parent one daughter one son family looked perfect to some. The nights were the worst. I’d have to go to school the next day pretending like I wasn’t up all-night listening to my parents’ fight. Later in life, all that I had forgotten would resurface.
So I became pretty good at wearing a mask and by the time I had my own family along with my own narcissistic abusive husband, I was an expert.
Since 2005, my life has been a series of unfortunate events. I like to call this series THE THREE D’S. Death. Divorce. Desolation.
Now here I am, almost 25 years after I declared HER HEALED EMPOWERED AND RESTORED. For 25 years I claimed this victory of being HER and it has been one roller coaster of a ride.
As I’ve journeyed my journey I realized that I have always been a healer. Even in the midst of my own valleys of shadows of death, I was always uplifting others. While I initially found financial success as a Life Coach, I quickly realized that paying for my services is a luxury that is needed most by people who cannot afford it. Knowing that GOD has always provided for all of my wants and needs and that I never want for anything, I began giving workshops and presentations free of charge to the youth in my community.
In 2017 I decided to become a certified Neuro Linguistic Programming. I learned the importance of connecting personal development, improving communication skills, language and behavioral patterns and how to alter these dynamics to help achieve specific goals and most importantly results. I was excited to begin using my new found techniques to make money!
But in 2018 my real test began. I was suddenly diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease and was immediately put on dialysis. My life had been completely flip turned upside down. This was a very trying time which made me have to focus all of my new found knowledge and practices on myself.
ISOLATION.
Isolation was not pretty or fun. It was the most devastating and loneliest time of my life that allowed me to appreciate God’s subtle and constant guidance. Isolation kept me mindful of the present; not the past or future. It increased my faith during difficult and unclear times and strengthened my spiritual foundation; helping to uncover my true calling and potential while giving me the strength and courage to navigate challenging times.
I learned that Isolation is not a coincidence. Isolation is preparation. A necessary part of growth and transformation.
Isolation helped me to focus on my spiritual growth, strengthened my connection with the divine, while guarding me from distractions and noise of everyday life
Isolation will allow you to reflect on your life, understand your true purpose and develop a deeper understanding of yourself your emotions and beliefs. It brings a renewed self-awareness, giving your strength to shed old unhealthy habits, patterns and behaviors allowing you to become the best version of yourself.
I found my isolation to be a gift that provided the time and atmosphere to connect with myself and God.
